Huge Mailday! Best Saturday at work ever!

I saw this on eBay and I was able to work out a private sale for it. I have been looking for this card for a while. There have not been many to come up at PSA 7. While not perfect on centering, this is a pretty good example for the grade. I am very excited to get this card as this is the last major card I needed in my 1961 Fleer Basketball Registry set. It should be all downhill from here as the most expensive cards I have left are $200 or less in PSA 7. Again, this was a card that seemed impossible for me to own when I was growing up. I was tracking the card's delivery via text updates from USPS and I knew it was scheduled to arrive at my office today. Never been more happy to work on a Saturday, LOL. I can't wait to finish the set!

<< <i>Looks every bit as nice as this one here, and I'm sure it came a bit cheaper:
This is a 10?
You are correct James, centering on this set is a beast. I think the 57 Topps basketball set is even worse when it comes to centering. Gotta love the quality control of the card companies back then.
I've toyed with trying to put this set together, but being a centering freak, I haven't done so yet... heck, I'm not even a third of the way through my 1961 Fleer football set yet given well centered copies appear few and far between.
Did you already put a 1957 Topps set together, are you working on one now, or is it something you'd like to do in the future?
Snorto~
Thanks, I am stoked to get this card. I just entered it into my set registry along with a few cards I picked up last month. It actually pushed me over 90% complete on this set. I'm excited to be so close to the finish line on this set. Getting over 90% is also cool because I think it qualifies me for a free submission, so that's a nice bonus.
To answer your question, I have thought about doing the 57 basketball set but haven't started yet. It will likely be the next registry set I pursue. That said, while it was fun doing this set, it took up a lot of resources. I think I would like to stick with graded singles and unopened for the time being before I tackle another set. If I fall into a nice lot of the 1957 set for a good price I may look into it more seriously but I don't think it's something I'll pursue actively in the near future. I do want to pick up a Russell and a Cousy from the 57 set at some point though. I am a huge basketball fan, so from a historical perspective those are a couple must haves eventually.
Oh and thanks for reminding me I need a wilt also......and can't afford to pay 8 money either
