Is PCGS getting rid of the $8 handling fee. I don't see what is "special" about the quarterly special other than the label has baseballs behind it? Also did PCGS charge you to return the mint boxes? >>

I think this questioned was posed before. The answer was that you get "regular" processing (and the associated faster turnaround time) as opposed to being put into the modern treadmill. It's all moot for me, though, as my sole delivery to date is two proof $1. Everything else is in backorder purgatory...

My results were exactly what I expected. I thought the silver proof had a chance at a 70 though as I picked the best out of four to send in and put the other three in my kids' Easter baskets.

Regarding the $39 "Special": I thought that outside of the special PCGS might charge $20 for a non-standard holder.

sent in 9 $1 silvers. 7 mint states and 2 proofs. All graded 69's. They couldn't even throw me 1 bone.

No complaints here. I needed one 70 in the MS $1 to have a 70 each. But 4 out of 8 is a nice return! Pretty sad when you get disappointed getting 69's.

I do not own any graded coins as yet, but I would like to see 3 like coins, a 68,69, and a 70 graded coin (of any coin type) side by side in a photo denoting by arrows, the various differences between the 3 levels of those respective grades. I asume the 70 would be flawless, but what would seperate it from the 69 grade? Anyone care to indulge this novice in this request? >>

I think it's for the special First Strike label......five bucks for some baseballs.
