Nice "new style" Owl

Had that in my wish list for months. It was to be my next "big gun" purchase with the last of the funds I was getting from selling some long-collected stuff on eBay.

But then SE1795 had to go and make me an offer I couldn't refuse on this, so I bought his coin instead. And I'm happy with it.

Still, I kept that owl on the back burner for a while, until recently I noticed it had sold. So it wasn't meant to be.

Pretty coin, though.

Both are nice pieces for sure. But you can't ever go wrong with awesome natural toning, JMHO

both are indeed nice and there are plenty of owls out there that a nice one at a nice price when you're ready for it will show up again

Definitely for the best. I'd go for the traditional if I were you, a few centuries back. These new style ones are not my cup of tea at all, but to each his own.

I actually like the new style ones.

Athena looks better on the new ones, while the owl looks better on the old ones.

Both are great, of course.

Well LordM, I would have to agree with you that the new style rendering of Athena is better but I think that the old style owl is much more of what I would want to capture by adding one of these to my collection.

This one got away. Maybe that's for the best.
