Wilmington MA show question

I have a ton of raw 70's baseball. Do you think it is worth loading up all the monster boxes to try and sell in quantity at this show to dealers? I have no desire to load everything, leave it in my car unsupervised if it wont be worth taking. Condition ranges from ex to nm with the majority in the ex/mt area. Here is a ballpark of what I would be bringing:

1974 2 complete sets, plus approx. 4,000 singles with stars
1976 3 complete sets, plus approx. 6,000 singles with stars
1977 approx 5,000 singles loaded with stars
1978 3 complete sets plus approx. 4,000 singles with stars

Thoughts? Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Sounds worth it to me.... but I'm not a seller, so what do I know?
  • I know from the November show every dealer had signs up saying they were buying. Might be worth a shot.

If you're willing to sell wholesale, I would expect lots of interest.

Why take the $$ that resellers might offer, when you can sell at a higher percentage of retail here? Scan the stars and sell the sets first, then move on to the higher prices singles, then blow out the rest. Seems like you'd leave alot of money on the table selling to a show guy. Plus they won't have time to really look at your stuff, they are there to sell. The guys who are buying mostly want a stack of singles or a few major cards.

    +1

Selling to dealers is generally a losing proposition. You will almost always be able to sell for more on these boards especially with the material you are trying to sell.
