cards with tape stains

Is there any positive to getting old cards with tape stains graded??? I know someone who has some early 50's but they all have tape stains.....

IMO, for the most part the answer would be no. I'd still grade any really big cards like Mantles, Aaron/Clemente/etc. rookies. Also, if there were some that might by luck be in such good shape that they could be a 9(ST), those would be good to get graded too. Best idea would be to post a pic or scan here first for more accurate recommendations.

EARLY 50's cards? ABSOLUTELY! Especially if other than the tape the cards present well. Grades themselves might not be that "good" but they would be authenticated and that brings a lot of peace of mind for potential buyers.
Now if you think the cards are going to be real low grades; PSA 1-3 for example you might not want to grade them.
Can you post a few scans? That would REALLY help.
