Thanks to cpamike and BaltimoreYankee for my new pickups (with pics)

Thanks to Mike and Daniel for my latest pickups. I was able to score my first 70's unopened box from Mike and fill the gap in my BBCE 80's Topps run thanks to Daniel. Thanks for some great transactions.

79 BB Cello box. Thanks Mike for the great deal! Looks great!

The 1980 box was a purchase from a local dealer (got a great deal on it) and the 81 is from Daniel (beautiful box in the old wrap). Thanks Daniel!

With some of my Ebay bucks I got this box of 48 packs of 1981 Topps Coke Boston Red Sox. Didn't really need it but thought it looked cool.

Thanks for looking.

Glad to help out Steve. Looks like the unopened box run is filling in nicely.

I love the 1981 Topps Coca Cola sets and I have an unopened box of the Mets from that year. Of course, being the Mets from that year, I got it dirt cheap. Congrats on all the new additions!!! image

    Mike,

Is my 1981 Coke Red Sox box similar to your Mets box? The seller said this was the original box that the packs came in and that there were 48 packs/box. Does that sound right to you? I got the box and packs for less than $25 delivered with my eBay bucks so I didn't really bother to look into researching it much. I figured the packs alone were cool enough to warrant getting them at $0.50/pack whether or not it was really the original box. I might try and find myself a Phillies box some day as that one has some star power (I believe Schmidt, Rose and Steve Carlton).

Go away you evil doer. image

Your box is exactly like mine. The box should be completely white with no writing on it and they did contain 48 packs with 3 cards per pack. All looks good to me.

When I get home tonight after my son's bowling lesson, I'll post a picture of mine here.

Glad you like the '81 wax box, Steve. I bought 2 in 2011 that came from a sealed case. The time was right to sell the one.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Yup, I get graded singles online but I prefer to find my unopened from here on the forums. Lots of great, stand up sellers and I like when my money is going to help someone else's collection too.

Mark--thanks for the nice comment. Shout out to you as you are one of the stand up guys I was talking about. No pressure, but, when is the next group break?

As promised, here are some pictures of the 1981 Topps Coca Cola Mets Box. Boy, Lee Mazzilli was going to be the man. At least we picked up a couple of solid pitchers after pawning him off on Navarro's favorite team. image

Thanks for the compliment Steve. I appreciate it. Yeah, Steve's (BBCE's) inventory is on a major depletion stage right now. As soon as he can get some new inventory, I will set one up. It's kinda depressing looking at his website anymore. Hopefully Reed can pick some stuff up on his next buying spree.
