68 Days! Complain And Ye Shall Recieve!! Poppage !!!!

Morning,

I have a small 44 card Pre 1956 sub that was logged in on 10/7/13 that I am still waiting for. And that's not even counting the 2 1/2 weeks it sat waiting for log in after the Box was opened at PSA........................................................REALLY?? So basically we are going on 4 Months since receipt of my cards!! Really? I haven't complained or said a word, but this is getting to be ridiculous !!!!!

I count about 68 Business days........................Really, I mean Really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear you; I had a 12-item order that was logged 9/26 just pop last night. Really, all this is a problem of perception. If we concede that it will take up to 4 calendar months for log-to-pop for orders submitted under monthly specials, anything faster than that is a nice surprise. The disappointment and frustration comes from expecting it to be much sooner. All PSA has to do to alleviate this would be to either remove the word 'approximately' before their estimated turn around time and instead replace it with a not-to-exceed / guaranteed maximum number of days; and/or, increase the number of days published as approximate to a much higher number than it would probably ever take. Either one or both of these corrections are simple fixes and they wouldn't have to worry about turning grades out faster than they have lately or dealing with people frustrated about orders taking a long time. I think I remember an old Star Trek episode where Scotty was talking about how he always told Kirk problems would take longer to fix than they truly would so that he could keep his reputation as a miracle worker. Point being, provide a reasonable estimate of time plus a conservative fudge-factor and you only look good when service ends up faster. Provide an unrealistically fast estimate of time that doesn't match your true work load and you can't help but set yourself up for disappointment.

P.S., while it was nice to have my last 9/26 order pop, I have 75 other items logged on 10/7 that I don't expect grades for until another 1 to 2 weeks from now. It's just the standard nowadays.

  • Hopefully the grades are worth the wait. I think I have 4 or 5 cards in on this sub. It has been so long I can't even remember which cards I sent in.

Nothing worse than a long wait plus a kick to the nuts with the grades.

Have you called for an update (and to complain)? I find that wakes them up.

I think they are in the process of reporting better turnaround times. They are now updating the odometer on the home page twice/week as opposed to once/month. I think their goal is to provide a statistics report similar to the coin division on a daily basis
    Coin division Daily Stats page

just noticed that PSA updated the odometer 2 days in a row now. Maybe they will start doing every day from now on and then create the statistics page like the coin division does.
