I can't believe that this Jeter SP foil rookie went for $32,500!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&item=400584119399&si=1AKfD95mTxt2LyEgjJu+AcXEJ/M=&print=all&category=213

I realize that it is extremely difficult to get this card in a 10 (I have sent 7 of these into PSA and none have graded higher than an 8), but that is a heck of a lot of money.

Someone left feedback for the buy. This seller had one listed a few months ago that appeared to sell but I never could find any feedback.

There was another one of these that just sold in a high profile auction and was discussed in another thread. It went for a strong number too.

This is a big number for sure but not shocking relative to other sales.

That was the recent Memory Lane auction. It is the "$33,842 in 2013" noted in the SMR.

Thanks Maurice. I thought it went for a number close to that but couldn't recall and didn't want to guess.

PSA is stingy in giving out 10s on this card. That's why it's valuable.

I thought it was like the 1971 Topps cards and the all foil front is chips real easily is the main issue?

Geez for $32,500 I'd rather have the early 70s and 60s sets (I think that'd be enough if I did the HOFers 7's in 70s sets and 6's in 60s sets...how far into the 60s could I go?
