HUGE THANKS to mrpeanut39 for helping me complete my 1983 set and asking nothing in return!!

I just wanted to say thanks to Brett (mrpeanut39) for helping me complete my raw 1983 topps baseball set. Brett helped me finish the set with about 100 cards needed. All great looking cards with stars as well. And as a bonus sent me a very nice Wade Boggs rookie as well, which is a huge upgrade to what I already had. He sent all these cards and asked for nothing in return, so I just wanted to thank him publically for the help!! I greatly appreciate it!!

A little story regarding the 1983 topps set. I have sets completed before 1983 and after 1983 but never finished the 83 set. This set is special to me in regards to that it was the first year I started collecting cards when I was 9 years old and have never looked back since. I even got the chance to meet Wade Boggs on my 9th birthday back in 83 at a local card shop in Warren Michigan when the sox were in town vs the tigers. I was able to meet him and ask him "man your hand must hurt from signing all these autographs" to hear everyone laugh about it. I didn't care I was meeting Wade Boggs!!!! The autographs to boot were only $1.00 each. I was able to get the Topps,Fleer, and Donruss Rookie cards signed. I still have all of them too!! Many years after this in my adulthood, me and my uncle get a chuckle about that time. All that he remembers is now telling me that's Boggs Girlfriend or whomever at the time was Hot!!! Obviously as a 9 year old at that time I could care less about that.
Anyways this is why the set is special to me and now 30+ years later I have it in its completed form.
Thanks Again Brett for helping me complete the set and for asking absolutely nothing in return!!!
Eric

Nice gesture for sure. The 83 set was my favorite topps set from the 80's.

Cool deal! I've had a few from here help me with my raw set needs as well.

The 1983 set is also the first one I put together (completely from packs!).

I know it's the Ryno/Gwynn/Boggs RC's and Ripken 2nd year that gets all the attention for this set but you know what? It's quite an attractive colorful set too! Plus the clean easy to read back (and the little baseball guy near the number is a nice touch).
