GAI Old Flip Question

I stared at the flip on this for awhile thinking something didn't look right, then realized the "mint" is missing. Is this typical of flips from this era?

I haven't personally seen that. Maybe GAI had mechanical errors too.

Edited to add: It is in the first generation flip and a "100" to boot so maybe they did only give out numbers in the beginning. Hopefully Tim will chime in.

That is one of the very early holders. When GAI first began grading packs, they didn't include "Authentic Unopened" on the topof the flip or the word MINT next to the numerical grade.

That's a lot for that pack imo. Yes, I'm being that guy who totally wants it and won't/can't pull the trigger at that price, but I'm confident that's too much even though the pack is awesome and hard to find. I'm very curious to see what it goes for.
