N6: Min size and new pop

So, I had some cards pop today, and had a question for the board. Is it common for cards freshly pulled from packs to come back N6 ? So, if you bought an unopened pack
and had something come back N6 would you be worried about the authenticity of packs from this source, or does it just sometimes happen? I'm pretty happy at least that one
of my 76's came back as a 10. It is a pop 4 as well, so that is nice, but I was surprised at the N6.

    Can definitely happen with legit cards. That's why there's a difference between "min size req" and "evidence of trimming."

    I've had a card pulled from a fresh pack come back 'evid of trim'. After complaining about it, PSA took another look and it came back 8.5. Magic.

    There are certain allowances for cards slightly undersized from the factory but n6 is sometimes given more liberally by one grader as opposed to another. All grading is ultimately subjective but n6 is not uncommon for certain issues like 1975 minis.


    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

    Nice grades on the 1976 Topps. I just sent in 80 1976 Topps cards last month for grading. Contemplating doing an all graded set from this year if this invoice turns out to be worth it.
    Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases

    Thanks for the input and the comments. Yeah, I was happy on getting the 10 on the 76 Topps #602. The 3 cards below I pulled from a 75 mini pack from a group rip a few months ago that I decided to open before my submission. I heard a couple of comments from other members about the packs from this particular box being well centered. I think I at least got my money's worth ripping that pack, but man that Braves team card was so sharp, and it is a pop 1, so I was holding my breath on that one hoping to maybe pull a 10. I will post pics once the cards arrive.
