does psa ever remove cards from pop

I see people removing cards all the time and I am wondering if psa does anything to remove cards from the population report that has been popped out.

It seems there might be a huge false population of cards at 8s or 9s

    I believe they only remove them from the registry when they are notifide by someone tht the card has been removed from the holder.

    My understanding is that the label needs to be mailed back to PSA at which point it would be removed from POP.

    As far as what i've heard here on the boards and through other conversations, no they don't. They should though. That's a hard thing to keep track of. Maybe if they offered collectors something for sending the flips back etc it could be easier. Theres certain cards in my set that i'm working on that have double digit pops, but yet have never seen them come up for sale. For all I know they could have all been cracked out and put into raw collections years ago.

    I always mail flips back to PSA when I accumulate 20-30 of them. Great question. Has it ever been confirmed that they actually do take the time to update pops? It would be in their interest to do so as it would theoretically create value from scarcity.

    I sent back 6 flips a couple of months ago. They were all .5 or with a qualifier so the pop hardly ever moves. I noted the pop number when I mailed them out
    and checked back again a few days later. They all showed one less so I know on this particular case they did remove the cert from the population.
    It only costs the price of a stamp to send them back.

    I was wondering about this same topic.

    Its nice to know that people send them back but what will throw them off is the people who don't send them back.

    I am sure allot of people crack them , resubmit raw and call it a day.

    In the coin grading world, if you mail back the labels they give you 50c/label and adjust the pops every quarter. So there could be up to a 3 month lag before you see a pop update.

    have sent back hundreds over the years, but never checked if they removed them, so i hope they do. not really looking for any compensation other than the cost of Band-Aids for my fingers.

    I probably have at least 500 flips between psa and sgc at home. sad to think of all the money I have wasted over the years imageimageimageimageimage even at a minimum, 500X6 is $3000 bucks but many of these were at higher submission levels

    From personal experiance:

    PSA will tell you that they will remove an item from the pop report. You must send them the label in order for this to happen.

    The problem is that this doesn't always get done. These labels need to get into the right person's hands and they have to have the time to do it. Consider how busy PSA always seems to be and that this might be something to fall through the cracks.

    I would send in your labels to the attention of Cosetta Robbins and take your chances there.

    In 2011 at the Baltimore National's PSA lunch I asked Cosetta this question and she said just sent them in to get them removed. I had them with me and handed them to her, which she stuck in her purse. It was over 100 labels. Within a week the items were removed from the pop report.

    50c a label credit towards grading for coins? IMO should be something offered with cards as well. I'll be hoarding labels until then.

    I have sent every one of my labels back to PSA. Only once did they not remove them. Apparently someone at PSA lost the labels and that was the reason why they were not removed.
    Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases

    Keep in mind the avg coin ticket price is 2.5X that of cards ($20 vs $8). I should have mentioned that. So to normalize for cards, it should be a 20c credit
