In my effort to surf the bottom of the barrel

collectors coin wise, to love the unloved and to remove the last few discretionary dollars from my shallow wallet (we still haven't found a house to buy)

I give you the following.

I LOVE the hole, which I presume is contemporary because of the squared off look on the striking side, love the surfaces... plus, it's a big arse chunk of silver so what could be wrong with it??

It's now suitable for chaining. You'd be a big hit with that around your neck at the World Cup and Summer Olympics.

Very cool! Now that has history behind it, unlike many MS65+ coins that haven't been touched!

When you find a house, you can nail that coin to the doorpost, old ritual to keep the bad spirits out of your house.
looking at the hole, it probably was attached to a doorpost one time.

  • I really like the idea of decorating with it, so to speak. Though, were I you, it would go on the frame above my office door (I presume your new digs will offer you an office). image

Absolutely....that is part of my plan.

I need to find an old school square nail.....

but the big question, do I get a classic silver dollar and do it? or do I take a modern "silver" dollar and do that? I guess I'd have to take a new mint offering image

I would do it with the lowest cull value you can find, G-d forbit some a-hole decides to steal it. Meanwhile I really like the subtle orange and blue tones in your NEWP.
