On what basis is the image an AU50 (to me the image color might be a bit odd)? I'd have to see the coin in the flesh, but it looks to be at least 63-quality. Whether this guy's accuracy is always spot-on for NNC slab certs, IDK, but he can grade to PCGS standards quite well judging by his past performance in the 2004 PCGS World Series of Grading.
Compare it to PCGS grades.
This piece is def MS - really does look 63 maybe better... but DEF. NOT MS65, and yes you need to see in IN HAND as I would never buy anything in those holders. JMHO
Well, just Love coins, period.
On a MS 65 one wants to see full hair, clean full hair and luster.
the rev has huge issues. On a 65 one needs to see and recognize the letters HBC on the side of the first piece of cargo.
these marks?? for sure not bag marks.... on a 65 maybe a couple of very tiny bag marks....and tons of clean luster, depth and details.
U guys say MS63??? Not even on a very good day based on Canadian standards.
This coin in MS65 trends at $ 17,000!!!!!!
NOW, if any of you would have a true 65 would you not make sure you could maximize your profits by having it graded by a reputable TPG?
They are praying on the unsuspecting! and they know it.
we all know, grading is just an opinion.
Again, my opinion is AU50, based on what I see.
and, there is absolutely NO reason for them to take the pictures in the slab. Why do they do it? to hide the real condition. it is very obvious.
it is just that simple.....IMO.
Given the seller's track record, I would be wary, but since there is a 14-day return privilege, if the price is right, why not?
Of course, the price has already gone past the point I would consider "right"...
