Pitfalls of being a Fleamarket dealer?

Locally, there is a void in the Brick and Mortar coin dealer arena. The one shop I know, seems mainly an extension of a pawn shop and has abnormal hours.

We have about two smallish shows annually.

The void seems to be filled with flea market dealers. Three I counted yesterday, seemed to have a nice setup and brisk business. Another local PT dealer cycles in and out as well. Not including the odd stand offering worn Buffalo nickels and IHC, the stuff is not earth shattering but runs the gamut of gold/Silver bullion, raw Morgans, raw everything...

Got me thinking... a table is $35 per day, biz liscense is somehow included, power is an additional $2. Why not take a shot?

Positives... Develop some contacts (we get a large influx of tourists), move some clutter, bring in some collections, move some bullion... maybe build into something that could eventually support an online store.

Negatives... I know the flea market is for bargain hunters, so I'm it might be a waste... any thoughts?

Welcome Uncle Bob. Did you mean to post this on the US Coin forum? May be more appropriate over there.

    Ooops!

Should I repost or will a moderator move it?

Sometimes they'll move it. Probably easiest to just Copy/Paste it to the US Coin Forum.

Also, you might want to turn on your "PM" (Private Message) function in your profile to communicate with other members without having to bump a thread to the top.
