Hello Everyone
Hi everybody. I'm brand new to the collector's universe forums but not so new to the hobby itself. Like many, I started collecting baseball cards when I was very young. My first vivid recollection of buying any kind of cards was going with my father to the local drugstore in town and buying a wax pack of 1988 topps
. As I got older, in my young teenage years, I discovered beckett and found that there was a card show in my area every other weekend. This was the start of a lifelong passion that to this day I have. At that point in time, (mid 90's), Ebay didn't exist yet so it was through this bi-weekly show that I got to slowly build my collection and meet a lot of great people that shared the same interests as me. As I was entering my late teens, early twenties, card collecting took a backseat to girls, cars, and other things and I even sold a lot of my collection to fund other life events. A few years ago, I decided to get back into this awesome hobby and I haven't looked back. I discovered so many new things since Iv'e been back most notably 3rd party grading companies and forums like this, where you can talk to so many experienced collector's and it seems no matter what the subject or question, someone here will have the answer. After reading these forums for a few months, I realized that this is the place for me and I thank everyone for allowing me to be a part of this community. Currently, I am working on a 1980 topps baseball all PSA 10 set. This set has a lot of sentimental value to me as this was the very first set I ever put together as a kid just going to card shows and buying singles. I started this project last February of 2012, and currently I'm 52% complete. I still need to add it to the registry. Sorry for rambling guys, but just thought I'd introduce myself and give a little background. Once again, thank you for allowing me to be a part of this

I am also working on the 1980 Topps baseball set all in PSA 10. I'm in 10th place, well actually 12th place behind our fearless leader who thinks he is fooling everyone by not listing his set at all, + your set. Don't worry Punchy, as I completely understand your position and I concur 100%.
Good luck with your set. When do you plan on listing it?

Easy to relate to the other card addicts around here
Good choice for the avatar
<< <i>Thanks a lot guys, Paul one of these days when I have a few hours to list them I'm going to, I just want to do it the right way as I want to provide scans of the cards as well. My job has been taking a lot of my time lately, so when I do it, I want to do it the right way

Jimmy,
Just because you don't see the Ryan or Henderson in a PSA 10, doesn't mean I don't have them....
Good luck with your set.

Hi Jimmy,
Welcome to the boards! The 1980 set is terrific and a great collector's piece. One that is still obtainable in a high grade if you have the patience and determination. I like that you can still find unopened packs of this product. For me, being able to open a pack and add a couple of cards to your set is always a good time!
As far as not seeing a Rickey Henderson 10 yet, they don't surface all that often, allow me to assist. This one is mine.
I'm currently searching for a 1980 Nolan Ryan PSA 10 as well. Once I do, I might tackle this set in high grade.
Best of luck in your collecting focus; it's good to have one. It's so easy to be captivated by many different cards that come from different eras and sports, stay true to your goal and you'll get there.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
