    there must be a hidden treasure map embedded in the layers of item #2, or perhaps the text on the reverse is the code for the long-awaited cure for toe fungus. image

    My educated guess is that if Keith wants something he just types a bunch of numbers as his bid and doesn't really think about the consequences.

    The first item is a 1978, the second a 79. Rich Chiles last major league appearance was in September of 1978. My guess is that this guy dropped off the faced of the earth after his playing days (wikipedia shows him as still alive) and only a few examples exist of a signed 1979. Regardless, the price is out of this world.

    That would imply someone else was also foolishly typing in a bunch of numbers as a bid. Maybe someone else meant to bid $17.00 and forgot the '.'

    I would assume with only '5' feedback the other bidder knew Keith was bidding on it??? ....and tried to maximze someone's profit??
