Foreign Coin selling help

Here is the deal, a friend I know dad owned a pawn shop for over twenty years and purchased coins. Now he would just look through the coins he purchased and pull all the silver and the others he would throw in a bucket. The shop is gone and my friend has asked me what to do with 100s of pounds of foreign coins. I have looked through them and many are modern 50-90 and of course are no longer legal currency. So my question is what would be the best route to sell this boat load of coins and what would be the going rate per pound. Yes there are older coins and maybe some silver he missed but looking for your help to help the family get some money back. thanks in advance Randy

Randy, you will have to list them.... there may be some scarce coins...
i would look at each coin check Km and see where the values are..
then slowly eliminate all down to lets say 100 and sell them on FEEbay.
or offer it as a lot..

Usually you see these sold by the pound. Looking through hundreds of pounds would probably not be worthwhile from a commercial perspective, unless your time has absolutely no value. But collectors don't mind sorting through a few hundred coins at a time, just in case. I would just pour them into 1-5 pound lots and sell them that way, and on ebay some people will bid them up to above retail prices.

Poundage is fun, time consuming fun. I cant find any here locally so I try to buy on ebay, things go sky high sometimes on there for no apperent reason. I think that might be the best bet.

We buy most foreign poundage lots for $4-$6/lb. and we can easily handle hundreds of pounds. So if you decide you don't want to put the effort into eBay, we're always an option. If you're close enough we can pick it up, otherwise you'd have to ship it.

    1) Determine how many full pounds will fit in a US Mail flat rate box (smallest size)
    2) Break into lots of that size
    3) Take photos
    4) List on ebay with $5.15 per lot shipping

    or

    4) List here with "best offer" plus $5.15 shipping
