Can someone explain to me how a 25/75 centered Jordan got a psa 10 grade....makes me leary of PSA.

I see a LOT of PSA 10s that make me scratch my head.

Second of all I'm seeing more like 60/40 centering. Not sure where you are getting 75/25 from.
<< <i>I didn't measure it, but that card is more centered than 25/75. It may even fit into the guidelines for PSA 10. >>
55/45 to 60/40 so I say it fits. I wouldn't buy it but it does just slide under.
<< <i>i'm already thinking a bump to 11, no tilt. >>

Bottom line is it is a crappy example of a 10, but at least the seller included MJ's career highlights in the auction description. For me, that's all I care about when I bid on a card
FINISHED 12/8/2008!!!
<< <i>I measure 45/55. To me a 10 is a 10... which means 50/50. There is no higher grade and anything more/less than 50/50 shouldn't be a 10. Then again, I don't write the grading standards.
llafoe I have seen you mention rulers, kindly, would you elaborate on exactly how you measure? It could really help many of us.

<< <i>I would call that photoshop job 80/20, even if it isn't mathematically correct. >>
That's like saying "That money in your hand is only $10. Yeah, you just counted it and it's technically $12, but it looks $10, so that's what I'll call it."
<< <i>I have a nice piece of ocean front property to sell you in Indiana if you think that is 45/55 centering. Guys brother must work at PSA. >>
You could measure it yourself instead of pulling numbers out of the air. But making things up as you go is always more entertaining.
<< <i>Anybody paying these extreme premiums for garbage like this needs their head examined. >>
First thing you've said in this thread that actually make sense.

It's not just entertaining, it's a step-one requirement for participating on these boards!
This one that is a 9 OC looks better to me.
<< <i>Here's a Jordan rookie would look like if it was centered 75/25. (I photoshopped it) >>
Let me make sure I understand this right. When referring to a card's centering by using 50/50, 60/40, 75/25 etc., I've always thought that those two numbers were referring to percentages or fractions of a whole 100% total.
So when you say that your photoshopped MJ is 75/25, are you going by that same rationale? Because if that were the case, the left edge would be exactly three times the space as the right edge. (75/25 = 3/1)
It doesn't look like that to me

You are correct.

I found a better picture of a jordan rC on the net and modified it into a 75/25 card. The card is slightly tilted in my version, so it's WORST point is the top half, which would be centered 75/25 l/r.

Honestly, if anyone is going to make a thread like that, do it on a different forum. FCB or NET54 would likely be the best places.

<< <i>Easily refuted...funny the card got pulled down all of a sudden so something was fishy. >>
Your "Can someone explain to me how a 25/75 centered Jordan got a psa 10 grade" comment was refuted, because the card isn't 25/75. I just showed you what a 25/75 card looks like. Learn your centering.
Maybe the auction was fishy, but it wasn't the centering that made it fishy.

<< <i> I claimed the Jordan rc did not look like a PSA ten and centering looked like 25/75 >>
Exactly.
<< <i>You did not show me what anything looked like. You posted a piece of garbage and said it was 75/25. >>
I showed you what a card centered 75/25 looks like, by showing you a card centered 75/25. True, it's not 25/75, but if you can't extrapolate what a 25/75 card looks like by seeing what a 75/25, then you're beyond help.
If you don't believe that it's centered 75/25, then by all means, measure it yourself. It's not a matter of opinion, it's something that can be measured.
Now, if you want to say that the 75/25 card doesn't LOOK 75/25, then LOL.
