Philadelphia ANA Show

Any reports from the ANA Convention in Philadelphia?

I was there for the day on Tuesday and managed to buy 7 nice coins, all Mexican and all slabbed. I did find two nice raw coins, but they were overpriced for the grade. I'll try again on them later in the week.

I did see a nice English copper, but I decided to hold off a bit on it.

Actually, I was very pessimistic going into the show. I didn't expect to find anything worthy of purchase, so I came home happy.

Next up is the auction on Friday. Not a whole heck of a lot in that sale, however.

Anyone else?

I'm going tomorrow. I have my eyes on 3 pieces on the floor, plus a few in Stacks auction. I'm hoping to finish the week with at least one piece (of the 10 or so on my radar). If I can get 2 or 3, that would be so sweet. Of course, I'd have the unhappy but realistic task of figuring out how to pay for everything.

Need to be at work - will bid remotely on stacks. I am gunning for the same win ratio as EVP and then wait for Heritage.

I found two very nice German medals --- one from Paul Bosco (a large Kaiser Wilhelm I death medal, 1888), and one from Don Young (a Kaiser Wilhelm II peace-tour medal, also of 1888). It was a short trip for me, so I didn't have time to explore the entire bourse.
