OPC may be scarcer but that doesn't mean they're move valuable, LOL..

  • Nice tilt. That looks like a Dimitri Psa 10. For that price it should be centered PERFECTLY.

Anyone remember what the card sold for in the SCP auction?

That card went for less than 5k at the SCP auction, so the initial buyer flipped it for a nice profit. Will be a little tougher go for the dude with the jammed 5 key.

I thought I remember it going for close to 5k like you posted. That is awesome that he flipped in just a few months for double what he paid. Nice buy and score!!!

  • Its still a nice card. I'm sure that price tag is for display purposes only. Personally the left edge is a pain but more power to the grade.

I think OP may be insinuating that liv2mow bought the card from pietrzaj to try to flip it for more than $10k, and if he can't within the 45-day window for Buyer Protection, he will file a case against pietrzaj and get his money back.

    Is that correct?

  • What am I missing with that grade? The edges are like chewed finger nails (except the top) and the tilt? Are all the young gems soft 10's? I've gotten cards back in 8 holders that are better than that!!!

liv2mow is the top Brett collector in the world, I think he has every intention of keeping this card unless he can get an insane price for it.
  • Or is it that OPC gets a pass ?

Where the heck was he when the bidding was going on at SCP? Could have saved a few bucks.

OPC cards during this era that are pulled from the pack typically have what they call a "rough cut" which is actually fibers from the cardboard that come out past the actual edge of the card itself from underneath that top layer on the card. I feel more comfortable as a buyer if I see the rough cut as I know that the card likely came straight from a pack rather than being sheet cut.

OPeeChee cards, like any self-respecting French Canadian woman, should have a little bit of fur around the edges.

That's one heck of a card. As a long time Brett fan, as well as an OPC fan - I think that card's worth well over 5K.

    Edited to add:
Maybe not $55K, but $10K is much more reasonable.

  • The guy lists the card for 55 grand but can't correctly scan a card! Who in their right mind would bid on a high dollar card with a scan like that? I get blinded with scans like that. I have passed on $20 cards that I wanted because the seller didn't provide a proper scan.
