Not mine but looks like someone got a gift.

All my vintage cards with sharp corners get 7's

  • what the heck happened in that grading!? if this gets a 7 then the majority of my cards should be 8's

    I was gonna say 4.

Sometimes the Goudeys look better in hand than from a scan.

edit: the scan now shown is a bit better and I would modify my opinion - this card looks better - now - blown up

I was going to guess 4-5. No way this is a 7 by any grading company. At a minimum it's badly stained/faded. So even without the fading the card is a 5 with the fading maybe a 4, no higher than a 5 though. I have a Barry bonds 1987 opc psa 7 listed on ebay right now, if you compare the two, my opc would be a 15 compared to this 7.

Work hard and you will succeed!!

I agree it shouldn't be a 7...but let's be honest, people here always give crazy low guesses in these threads...

that looks like a very old cert number that was reholdered recently. crack that out and submit raw today and I would wager that grades no higher than a 5.

I was going to guess a solid 4.

We've just grown accustomed to them being far from what they appear or else a thread wouldn't be started about them :) I was going to really lowball and guess a 2 before the actual grade was posted.

Thought AUTH with the cut on the bottom edge
But jeez, if that's normal and the staining down there too...,I'd be lucky with a 3

Yes I agree it was probably a card graded 10+ years ago.

I submitted this card and got the same grade:

So let's punish all current submitters with nice cards so our prices stay strong.

Or punish only those who submit once in awhile. Seems the case.

I submitted this card and got the same grade:

WHAT! That is a beauty of a Wilt. I'm on my phone but the bottom right corner is the only one that looks touched. Time to get out the nippers and crack that bad boy.

Speaking of Goudeys, there is the same Gehrig featured on the home screen from PSA that graded 8.5 with a brand new label. The card does look stunning ( much nicer than the 7 above), however, I can't see how this card received a .5 on its grading. Usually, that equates to very nice centering. Unless they don't take the bottom red strip into account, this card should have received an o/c designation for sure. Check it out. it is under "Joe's Tweets"

Agreed. That is a very old cert number. I would bet that card would grade a couple points lower if resubmitted today.
