experience with Bonhams?

Anyone have an experience with Bonhams?

I was reading through posts today on here and saw their banner ad on the top of the page. They have an auction coming up with some toned seated proofs that I'm interested in but I've never bought from an auction before.

Anyone have any feedback or tips?

thanks!

Bonhams is one of the old-line auction houses. Be sure you know your stuff before bidding and fully understand the terms of sale.

Pretty much the usual terms, etc. just be sure they're able to ship your purchases.

Why wouldn't they be able to ship?

I have won lots from several Bonham's auctions. I have had fine service from them.

They are one of the few larger houses that still lists expensive raw coins. I've always done well there.

Many non-numismatic auctioneers don't offer in house shipping but will refer you to an outside shipper.

I have gotten some truly spectacular coins from them and always a good experience.

Ok, let me rephrase that. Make sure you know what it will cost to have your coins shipped.
