1986 Fleer Basketball PSA 10 prices

Don't know how many others are working on this set on this grade, but the prices seem to be cratering lately, almost half of what some where just a year ago. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

Very possible. I'm a buyer, so it's okay for me, but seems like I should have waited on some of the cards. The commons are very cheap and the stars and low pop cards are down quite a bit. I'm pretty sure one of the infamous Johnny Moores sold a year ago in the $24,000 range. There is one available on eBay now for $15,000 OBO.
  • I picked up a Karl Malone PSA 10 pretty cheap recently and noticed other cards going from much less than recent peaks. Good time to buy.... maybe?

  • I'm still waiting. A card isn't supposed to go from $16,000 to $38,000 in a few months. Basically. So far it has come down to $28,000 and probably still has a ways to go.

Noticed the drop on Akeem, Barkley, Malone, ewings. I think I'm
Basically back to being a buyer

its not just 86 fleer psa 10 prices that have fallen back a bit, but most high end rookie cards from all sports that spiked up like 200% to 300% from May to July have seen a correction. higher prices brought out sellers. psa 8 pete rose rookie went from 6k to 15k and back down to 9k. same with koufax, clemente psa 7s and 8s. prices still higher than they were a year ago, but have dropped. jeter psa 8 sp rookies went from 200 to 500 almost overnight, and have now come back down a bit. seems like a natural correction given how fast most of these ran up in a few months time

Blue Horseshoe just wants to be friends with 1986 Fleer PSA 10.
  • $26,900 for a PSA 10 tonight. It continues to go back to a reasonable price. That based on a previous price of $16k. So a box shouldnt be in the $70k's. $50k's anyone?

Maybe there are 10-30 fewer buyers this month.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Good luck at buying them at $10K. The MJ #57 is not coming down to that price ever again. It will consistently sell for over $22K from this point forward.

I definitely would not bank on any card with a population of 250 or more staying over $20,000 for all eternity.
That is a lot of money and there are owners of that card for whom that kind of money is not in their collecting/hobby budget.
It is one thing to spend that kind of money when you are confident it will continue to grow indefinitely, quite another when sales are stagnant or dropping.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

Another closed last night at $27,700. Whats really interesting to me.....The Jordan in PSA 10 increased by 11 total cards over the week of the National. That's close to 5% of the PSA 10 population before these 11 new cards popped.
