I have been looking for this mega tough branch mint Guanajuato Peso for almost 15 years!

My heart has been set on a solid XF and I had an extremely pleasant surprise when along came this AU albeit details example on eBay by way of Norway! Someone did a really great job plugging the hole with coin silver and it has since begun to tone and grow a bit of skin. In a perfect world, I would want a problem free high grade example. However, the great strike and the fantastic meat left on this coin makes it a sure fire winner.

Normally I'm not an advocate of plugged coins (as a former collector of holed coins, I'd rather have a hole than a plug, as weird as that sounds).



But that repair was exceptionally well done indeed, and an expertly repaired coin like that looks better than a harshly cleaned one, or a scratched one, etc.



So not all problems kill a coin's basic eye appeal. This is a classic example of that.
