If you could only keep one.

Ok, for some unforeseen reason you have to sell off your entire collection except for one card. What would it be? It doesn't have to be the most valuable, just your favorite. For me, it would be one of my nnof frank thomas cards. It is not my most valuable, but as a youngster, there seemed to be an aura of mystery surrounding it. It took me many years just too see one in person. Then when I finally got one, it was instantly my favorite card. That it was my favorite players rookie didn't hurt either.
So, how about you?

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

its like having to pick among your children....all having their own attributes and memories...hmmm....i just may be stumped.

with cards, i just realized my favorite does change time to time....although there are other things i collect that i would take over my top card..hmmm...good question
Interested in higher grade vintage cards. Aren't we all. image
  • Funny, you mention children. They made a card for my kid at Cooperstown Dreams Park when he played there. By far, the best card I have.

Y'all can have your Mantles and your Jordans and your shiny inserts. Mine's a 1/1 forever. ;-)

Couldn't narrow it to one, so I'll show you 2:

Easy, 1977 Topps Mark Fidrych. Living in the Detroit area back then and buying so many packs just to get that card!! After his 76 season, you just had to have his first Topps card!!

The sticker I guess, but hard to give up the card I got signed the day my sons and I met my hero.

Good choice, Dan - I'd go with the sticker too.

Without question I would keep my 1969 Topps 2nd year card of Johnny Bench. As a young collector that card was always at the top of my list and still is today. I would happily post a picture but have yet to figure out how to post a picture using the collector focus website. A great thread.

Probably keep my kids over my cards so the wifey does not throw me out. Unless it was a really high end Mantle rookie image

For me, it would be the 1967 Topps Mickey Mantle my late father gave me with a heartfelt letter. I will eventually give it to my oldest son some day.
  • For me it would be the greatest of all time. "1986 Fleer Jordan PSA 10". No question for me.

Mine would have to be my PSA 10 1986 Topps Traded Tiffany Bo Jackson. I love that card!
  • I'd probably have to keep one of my unopened cases of 1986 fleer basketball.

Has to be my 57 Topps Bart Starr. I can still remember sitting on my parents couch and watching the 67 Ice Bowl. Go Pack Go!
