Quick question about your collections and how you insure them and through what company. I contacted my insurance company (USAA), and they put me in contact with American Collectors Insurance. Wanted to know if (a) anyone has used this company, and (b) if not who do you use for collections valued over say $40k that covers your cards, covers them when they are shipped, allows you to take them off premises to shows.... Thank you in advance for the help.

My insurance company is also USAA. I am in the process of getting my collection insured. They requested that I catalog my collection and estimate the values. I am printing out VCP prices to couple with a scan of the card. However I think they are only insured if stored in my house. I did not inquire about shipping or taking the cards elsewhere.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

That is correct. I have a policy and have to print off VCP info as well to send in to them. One thing to note is don't take the option for a discount if you have a safe deposit box. If you do and you file a claim they won't tell you this but they won't honor the claim unless.... wait for it.... they are stolen from the box. My buddy owns an agency and checked out the policy for me. Kind of sneaky. Also, correct they are not insure if shipped. What good does that do anyone?
they cover everything but rising water. even shipping to and fro and you can add another location, ie work office, etc.
you don't have to itemize anything unless it exceeds $5k.
