Lots of "New" Material on BBCE

It looks like a lot of the high end boxes I saw in pictures from the National have made there way back to the BBCE website. It seems like the higher end unopened market has flat lined a bit of late. Anywho, if people are looking to load up, now seems to be a good time with high availability.

cheers

I think it was only a matter of time before prices "flatlined" for lack of a better term.
Things cannot increase in price indefinitely.

Only thing that stands out to me is the '78 tray box, don't think I've ever seen that before.
  • They have some really nice stuff, but I have a feeling a good portion of the hobby will be having a correction in the near future. It will probably go hand in hand with the stock market correction that is coming.

Jgrigali- I am not sure what you saw from BBCE booth however I was only there on Tuesday around 11:00am to Wednesday around 1:00PM and I would have to agree that items did not move very well. During this time I personally only saw him sell $400,000 worth of product.

Just so you or anyone else does not think I am exaggerating this number.

2 boxes of 1986/87 Fleer Boxes
4 boxes of 1980-81 Topps boxes
1 1976 Topps football case cello
    1 1969 Topps Football box
    2 1976 Topps Football box
    2 1979/80 OPC hockey boxes
all vending boxes of 1979/80 Topps hockey
and about 15 boxes in the range of $1000-3000 to random people

Not sure how many dealers did $400K the first two days of being open but this is pretty big. Remember that many customers sold him so very nice material during the show as well.

oh yeah certainly, I'm not saying things didn't move, but there are a lot of 70s baseball and football that came back.

It was because he bought/traded for material. BBCE has a ton of really good unopened boxes right now. Perhaps the best selection that his company has had in three years.

The 70 and 72 boxes are from the National. It will be interesting to see if the 70 box sells at that price point. I believe that box is on consignment. That price is quite steep, imo.

and some of the higher end items are moving on the site, which makes sense since not everyone can make it to the national. in a way this is a good sign, material is still moving, so perhaps you can say that the prices have stabalized. A year ago this stuff would be insta-gone from the site.

I wonder if all the packs have price tags on them (like the one showing). I have to assume so.

I believe you are correct Grote that both boxes are consignments and about 20% higher than market pricing.

At $1100 + per pack, ya think?? These asking prices have gotten completely arbitrary.

    asking ain't getting--but if you don't ask--you'll never get

maybe they're thinking a good home resides overseas--where lots of stuff seems to be headed

Does anyone remember what he sold the 75 FB cello boxes from the unopened case as the national two years ago? I was wondering how it compared to the 75 cello box he has on-line now.

Also can anyone tell me if they have seen any other 55 all American FB cellos. That's the highest price i've seen for an individual pack that I remember.

I think it was around $30K for a case.

I noticed that 3 of the 1970's BKB Boxes including the $14K 1971 Topps Box are now sold. That box was a $12K for the longest time.
