My 1860's Seated Half run - complete!

Well, except for the no motto 1866-S, which I probably will get sometime later. This is the one that did complete the run, it was a bugger to find. I used the 'shop' link within the online digital album to find it, a very nice feature!

This is very impressive. The 1860s are not a trivial run to complete for Seated Liberty half dollars and, when you add into the goal your requirement for grade range and eye appeal/originality then it becomes that much more astounding. Nice work!

That IMO is how seated material should look like.

1867-P is a tough date to locate. Not surprised it's the last one you added. Other coins in this date run that "suck" to locate in upper circ. grades are 1862-P, 1863-P, 1864-P, 1865-P, 1868-P, and 1869-S.

    So true, so true...

I am just working on the Civil War dates. They are very hard to find nice.

A lot of great looking coins here. The 1869 looks really nice (also love the 55-O).

The 1860s are a challenging decade. I only have a couple in my date set so far - a lot of ugly coins from those years. You have selected well.

    I'm jealous, congrats.

How does it feel to complete your set? What's up next for you?

    Thanks!

I'm trying for a complete set (haha) of the Seated halves, or at least something close to it. I'm looking at completing the 1850's and 40's next, or at least to the best that I can. The 1851's and 52's appear to be nasty to find in decent shape.

No wonder I don't have any 1860's Half Dollars...you scooped them all up! Really nice '67...the rest are not too shabby either! image
