I just found on Ebay a box of 100 Packs of stickers from the 1981 Topps Baseball sticker album. I was so hooked on these as a kid that I am pumped to have an unopened box again. I still have my compelte album from as a kid and I found a blank album at a show a few years ago. As much as i want to open the packs and restick the new stickers i will have to keep the box closed. Does anyone else rememebr these?

<< <i>My son recently found my 1981 sticker book from my youth. It had a few stickers in it. I bought two boxes on ebay and we started ripping. It took almost 180 packs to find all of them. The last 60 or so packs were opened to find the last sticker, Steve Stone All star. Got all but 6 stickers in the first box. It was fun. Here are some of the pictures.

So cool!!!
pages brings back memories! Collected them as a kid in early to mid 80s, which was before I really had any money so getting a few packs of stickers was a huge treat. These albums predate my later in decade addiction to baseball cards. 25 years later and now I have my current, far more expensive habit/hobby of unopened baseball.
Which years did Fleer produce stickers of players that largely pass as baseball cards? I recall Doc Gooden being on the cover of 86 box. But never bought these as a kid and don't have any today.

1982-1984 were my collecting glory years. I love the card sets and sticker books from those years. One of my most distinct collecting memories was being at my grandparents' home for a week during the summer of 1983. I was one sticker short of completing my book - Johnny Lemaster. I was talking with my Grandma about it and went to a gas station where she bought me a whole box of stickers! I was in complete disbelief. I had never even heard of anyone buying a complete box of cards or stickers. It wasn't even something to contemplate. Of course, I ripped them all and found the elusive Lemaster to complete my book!
Like others, I remember everyone wanting the foil stickers, but I don't know if they were any less common than the regular stickers. Is there anyone who can weigh in on that, perhaps after opening a case to look for gems to submit?
Here are a couple of other things I really liked:
There were some images that went across two stickers. It was fun to try to get two that lined up perfectly so the image would look good.
I also really liked when they had retired players in the book. I think one year they had the all-time HR leaders. It was awesome to get a Willie Mays or Hank Aaron sticker.
Oh yeah! That's it right there!
Finally, I just realized last weekend that Topps is still making sticker books! I have a son who is 2.5 and I can't wait until he's old enough to collect stickers with me. Man, if he has 10% as much fun with them as I did it is going to be a blast! (of course, I doubt he'll have any kids on the block to trade with, so that's a bummer...)
(Now I'm really bummed that I can't get at my own sticker books for a few days. What a trip down memory lane those'll be!)
i remember opening a pack and finding that single foil sticker like it was yesterday..or even today.....that right there is why we collect these dumb little cardboard squares and pay with paper that has a lot of zeros.
our class use to trade with our math teacher...who would also steal our money....thats another story.
<< <i>I loved, loved, loved, loved these books as a kid. I still have mine and they are treasured parts of my collection. They're never going anywhere. The books themselves are tattered and coming apart at the seams, but that makes them even better, as it shows how much I looked at them. We traded them like crazy and brought the books with us all the time.

My friend and I went to my grandma's one day and my mother gave us each a quarter or so to buy a few packs of stickers. I told him that if he got that Babe Ruth sticker he had to give it to m. Of course he got it and did not give tito me. That caused a big fight that day. I loved those more than cards at that time.
