Finally did it...sent out the wrong card!

After several thousand auctions I have finally made the mistake I any eBay seller dreads...I sent the wrong card to the buyer. I got down to the last card to ship from last night's auction (every buyer paid within 24 hours!) and realized the remaining card was not the one the last paying buyer won. I remember shipping out the card he did win in this afternoon's mail. So I have contacted the buyer who I think will receive the wrong card and asked to have it returned at my expense of course. And told the other buyer there would be a delay but would reimburse him if he didn't want to wait. I always double-check each mailing but I sure missed this one.

Hopefully if any of you have made a similar mistake you can reassure me that everyone helped out in getting the right card to the right buyer!

I once bought a card on eBay and accidentally selected an old address in PP that I hadn't lived at for years for shipping. I figured that card was long gone but I messaged the seller anyway and told him what happened. It took the person living in my previous apartment to be honest and return the card to the seller and then the seller to be honest and go ahead and re ship the card to me for it to work out. As it turns out, there are more honest people in the world than dishonest and I ended up receiving my card (just a little late). Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

I've been meaning to email PayPal or eBay and ask then why my address that I lived at 1000 years ago is still isted as an option.

    +1

I had several hundred successful transactions go flawlessly and then my boss had asked me if i would sell a couple of baseball bats for him. I agreed. One sold for $250 and the other about $50 as I recall. I messed up and switched the bats and sent to the wrong addresses. Fortunately, both parties were very cooperative and I ended up getting the bats to the correct people. I ended up refunding the person who was willing to send back the more expensive bat $20 extra dollars for the trouble.

Hope it all works out for you.

I was once sent a wrong item on an eBay transaction and the seller had asked me to forward it to the rightful owner and that he would reimburse me for the postage costs & while I did that, the seller never did make good on that (although I did eventually get the right item).

I once sent a guy 4 bowling balls instead of a bobby jones signed photo worth about $1500. not kidding. Luckily not many mistakes like that in all my dealings. It all worked out , you will be fine

I did this once. The one buyer alrerted me of my mistake. So i emailed the other buyer through the eBay communication system but he didn't respond even after three requests. I finally go this phone number through eBay and called him. He said he usually just tosses the cards in his closet and doesn't really look at them. I sent him PP funds to cover shipping and I got the card back.
