Ryan to the Bills. Yea or nea?

As a life long Bills fan, I suppose I'm happy that they at least went after someone with head coaching experience. Been at least a decade of putting coordinators at the helm. Not sure if Rex is the answer, though.

I think there are better coaches out there, but it would potentially fit perfectly into Rex Ryan and his ability to put his foot in his mouth with another team in his division.

I can see it now, Rex Ryan promising victory over the Pets twice a year...

He's a very good coach, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, and players love playing for him. The Jets had no QB or really any talent outside of a couple players the past couple of years. Bills are better than the Jets, though, so I can see him bringing the Bills to the playoffs, but with E.J. Manuel at QB, who knows? Not every coach is blessed to have a HOF QB for his entire stint like Bill Belichick, LOL..

I think it's just gonna be more of the same. Wouldn't buy season tickets.

Quarterbacks have not flourished under Rex Ryan. If I am a Bills quarterback or a fan of offense, I am not overly thrilled with this hire.

To be fair, though, Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith arten't going to be mistaken for franchise QBs any time soon, no matter who the coach is.

ETA: I suppose on that note E.J. Manuel will fit right in, LOL..

If I'm a Bills fan, I'm estatic. Rex Ryan is BY FAR the best head coaching candidate on the market. Unfortunately, he's saddled with another mediocre-to-poor QB to lead his offense.

I've never understood the hate for Rex Ryan. He took the Jets to back-to-back AFC title games with Mark freaking Sanchez as his QB. He lead the 2013 Jets team to 8-8 with Geno Smith as his QB. And considering the schedule, even the 4-12 record this year was better than it looked. They almost beat the Pack in GB (and maybe would have if an asst coach doesn't call time out), lost to the Pats twice by a combined 3 points, and played the Broncos tough.

That Bills defense is going to be scary next year with Alonso back. With even a middle-of-the-road QB, they will go 10-6. And I bet the Jets don't win more than 2 games next year.

I'm not really sold on this move, feels like more of a retread hiring. But to take a more positive angle on it, one could say being away from the white-hot glare of the NY media might be beneficial for him. He should at least get them competitive and into the playoffs at some point. Whether he can take them to another level beyond that is the big question.
