Advice on buying BPL tickets?

jdip9jdip9 Posts: 1,894 ✭✭✭
I'm thinking about taking a vacation to London this year with my wife, and would like to take in a game. I'm mainly interested in finding out the best way to get tickets from a reputable source. I've looked a few of the online resellers, but it seems strange that they don't list the exact seats you will recieve. They only list the part of the stadium you'd be sitting in. Is there is legal reason why they do this, or should I avoid these resellers?

Any info would be appreciated.

I would just buy from ticketmster even if there's a premium. Why ruin a great trip with possible headaches?
Buy them and be done with it. It's worth the peace of mind.
    Great vacation!

I don't know about the sites you mention as you don't mention them by name, but sometimes online sites don't give the exact seat numbers and location because some places (like Notre Dame) actively monitor ticket sites, and if a season ticket holder is caught selling tix for more than face value, they lose their ticket privileges forever. Notre Dame even goes so far as to have "dummy buyers" on ebay, that occasionally purchase tix from random sellers and if the tickets bought match a season tix holders account and that matches the seller, then bam, future ticket privileges lost.

Team doesn't matter, I just want to be part of the atmosphere for one BPL game. Logistically, it has to be somewhere within an hour train ride from London center, which I realize limits me to only a handful of venues. Just from what I see on TV, it feels like Tottenham would be the most fun...plus with Kane, they are getting exciting to watch.
