What's the best antivirus program out right now??

I run mcafee and norton,But I've still found a couple virus loaded junk emails that got through both of those programs...

Anybody have any suggestions as to the best there is out there right now?

  • McAfee and F-Prot.

I use McAfee and it catches those W/32@klez.mm virii every time image
  • black ice. It allows you to see who is trying to get into your system, and lets you choose of allowing them in, blocking them for a day, month, even forever. You can run it by the min, or by the hour, always keeps you updated, you would be surprised how many times your system gets hit in an hour.

That sounds like a Firewall program, not virus scanning program.

Blackice sux.. once the try-out period has ended and you want to remove it, the program messes up your whole ip-table.. so format is appropriate when you use that sucky thing image
  • Auto was right on the money..McAfee was the way to go..I was running it already but seems I needed to get thier latest defininitions update....I was safe on the email thing but had unknowingly picked up a worm when I downloaded a free Sopranos screensaver...

    Panda Antivirus Titanium 2.00.02

This is the one that I use. Top-notch anti-virus program.
  • There is a new one called "data defender " I think that's the name. I'll look it up later. It's made by Pacel Co. and never has to be upgraded. let me see if I can give you a link. Pacel Corp.

I'm told "abstinence" protects you from most viruses, but where's the fun in that? image

My wife works at a computer repair shop, and says Norton is the best, but to make sure
you get the latest definitions, since there are new virus's all the time. She has been
getting new updated almost 2 times a week now.
