1976 Walter Payton Cello on Top - Value & scarcity?

Hi -
I have a 1976 topps cello with Walter Payton on top in PSA 8. Does anyone know the value? Is it a good longterm hold to pass on to my 2 year old son? I collect mostly hockey. Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Many Thanks -

Peter

This looks like the same cello someone sold.
As far as investment, I doubt it would come close to beating the stockmarket.

Thanks, appreciate it and would agree on the stock market.

Back in 2003, I purchased 200 shares of AAPL (split adjusted for $7 each). The stock slip, left me with 400 shares, and sold it for $650 per share to buy our house 3 years ago. We call it the house that AAPL built.

I don't have too many football packs but I do have a few basketball and baseball so I'll venture an opinion and say the value on it is in the $600-750 range today. I'd also say it will beat the stock market over the next 10-15 years. It is a top rookie showing pack of one of the best so it will always be in demand and likely hold it's current value and increase at an above average pace. You're AAPL example is awesome (BWLD and the housing market crash bought my lake house too) but it's one of the best stock examples out there and not really something the market can expect to return. For example you might have bought another blue chip like Pfizer 15 years ago and watched it go from $45 to $32. If you think the stock market will return 7-8% a year I'd put the Payton pack down for 10+%.
