Counterfeit Mexican "Silver"

Here are some fakes bought by a friend of mine at a flea market (I cringed when he told me where they were from). He wanted me to have a few of them so I could spread the word about the fakes out there. Apparently these were purchased only a few months ago and he finally got around to looking at them up close.

1947 5 Peso Rev

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks for the info. I do appreciate it. I am sure they will be showing up on eBay in droves. Contemporary Mexican counterfeits(made for commerce) from the early 1800's are a collectable in themselves. However modern counterfeits(made to fool collectors) are pure junk and illegal. I appreciate all informative posts like this on counterfeit coins. Thanks~~!!

Yeah, the weak strikes throughout the dentition was a dead giveaway. He's an older guy, to be fair, whose eyes aren't always tip top so he got stuck with these.

Glad I could be of assistance to someone. image
