What does this ebay message mean? Had a listing pulled ..

I was listing a signed photo for sale and after a few days, I got this message and I'm not sure why.

There are cards that must be graded in order to be allowed to be sold on ebay. Gretzky RC for example. Somewhere in the bowels of all the ebay seller rules is the list of cards that must be graded.

That is why I asked what the item was. I once had a 1954 Topps Complete Set pulled because the Aaron RC was not graded. After asking, they sent me a list of cards that have to be graded. From memory -

    1933 Goudey Ruth
    1951 Bowman Mantle
    1952 Topps Mantle
    1954 Topps Aaron
    1963 Topps Rose
    1979 Topps Gretzky
    1986 Fleer Jordan

I think there was about 10 (maybe more) on the list.

    Here is the list.

You can list the following trading cards only if they've been professionally graded by a reputable grading company:
    1909 Cy Young (T206)

1909 Eddie Plank error card (T206)

    1909 Honus Wagner (T206)

    1909 Ty Cobb (T206)

    1933 Babe Ruth (Goudey #53, #80, #144, and #181)

    1933 Lou Gehrig (Goudey #92 and #160)

    1951 Mickey Mantle (Bowman #253)

    1952 Mickey Mantle (Topps #311)

1966-1967 Bobby Orr rookie card (Topps #35)

1979-1980 Wayne Gretzky rookie card (O-Pee-Chee and Topps #18)

1986-1987 Michael Jordan rookie card (Fleer #57)

Did they take Aaron and Rose off the list? I have EXPERIENCED Aaron being pulled.

  • Sounds like someone did a PSA/DNA Quick Opinion on your picture and it failed.

  • It was a signed photo of Charlton Heston that was given to me years ago. I was thinking someone did a PSA quick opinion as well on it, but there are a few of them like it up there.

If they were definitely on the list at one time, then yes they have.

    Interesting!

  • It really is a stupid list. I bought an OPC Gretzky rookie off of ebay in probably good condition. A couple of years later I was selling an OPC lot and the Gretzky was in the lot and they pulled it. The card was a 2-3 at best (I ended up selling it here, so maybe he got it graded - I really don't know). We are talking about a $50-75 card. But, you can put cards up like a 52 Topps Ed Mathews or 53 Topps Willie Mays and have no probelem at all.
