Strasburg Superfractor(s)

I remember about this time last year (or maybe 2 years ago?), one of the threads I enjoyed most was the Stephen Strasburg Superfractor thread. Its when the card hit Ebay and got bid up to like 1 million dollars or something really crazy. Anyway, just for kicks tonight, I did an Ebay search on just "Superfractor" and low and behold 2 of the top 3 priced Superfractors are who else but Strasburg.....But they are different 1/1 Superfractor RCs...LOL. This is the Topps Chrome and the Bowman Draft Picks..... I think the one that sold for big bucks 2 yrs ago was the Bowman Chrome Superfractor. Kind of tarnishes the whole idea of 1/1 when there are half a dozen 1/1 Superfractors from the same year from other sets.

  • Yes. Bowman, then Draft, the Platinum, etc, etc. Then there is the base, then the auto...

Harpers Superfractor sold a week or two ago. Last I had looked it was over 14K.

I believe the search is still on for the BC Auto Superfractor of Bryce Harper or is that the one that sold?

At least in football, I am more surprised of the brands that do not have 1/1 of base cards, such as absolute, stars and rookies and gridiron.

Up to 84 or 85 Tony Gonzalez 1/1's...but haven't been able to win one in maybe 3 months now. image
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I think you are correct. I can't find that card in the history on EBay. There is a listing on May 9th of the base Superfractor. It was listed at a penny then cancelled. Not sure where it went.

I might have to rip my other two cases of 2011 Bowman. 1 jumbo, 1 regular...

You're going to have a hard time pulling the Harper superfractor auto from 2011 Bowman. You need 2011 Bowman Chrome to hit that biggie.

After 25+ boxes of Bowman and Bowman Chrome, I am still Harperless.
  • There has been rumors that the Harper superfractor auto was pulled in the Bay area a while back. Just rumors, so take it for what it's worth. I wouldn't be suprised if it surfaced sometime this year-at least I hope it does so the price on cases of 2011 chrome drops(currently 1k+).
