<< <i>He can't do that, eBay is becoming a haven for rip offs lately. The postage rates are just out of sight!! >>
I just e-mailed Ebay about the situation.

<< <i>rumor has it that they are going to start charging tax on the cards you buy on ebay. Tax will vary depending on what state you are buying from??? Anyone else hear this?? >>
They can't do that. That is something that the seller has to do since the seller is the one that's selling the product.

Anyone remeber rbarra?? He used to put up eBay auctions with a $10 s&h charge for a single card...
<< <i>I do know that when having a problem with an eBay "powerseller"..You know the ones that have like 10,000 feedback and up..Is to threaten to email their eBay id to the irs..

Well, that still wouldn't work because all they have to do is provide receipts on cost vs. sell to show they have lost money. IRS would drop it all since that would be tax write-offs. And some of those feedbacks could be from buying also.
<< <i>But would'nt the gov. view $ made on ebay as unreported income?..Some folks albeit rare make a nice subsequent income from eBay..Especially the ones who are stores which sell pc's and higher $ items..thats a big chunk of change >>
It's not income if you lose money. That's capital loss.
<< <i>Yeah good point,..So theoretically a seller could deduct their listing fees Final value fees etc. as buisness expenses on their taxes huh? >>
If the IRS made a big stink about it.
