Did you know it existed thread - post your scans

Why don't we expand all of our horizons and post scans of what you have that some of us may not have known existed. Will be fun to see things for the first time. I'll start with a 1971 CFl Joe Theismann RC sticker. Only one has ever been graded by PSA.

  • Well, this is probably a more common item but still a difficult to find one none the less (I've never seen another copy)

He signed in each ink 3 times until he found one that he liked. Focusing on signatures was what Killebrew did and I know many collectors greatly appreciate it!

MDNIM - probably not. If their kids club was like other teams' kids clubs that I know about, there was one spokesman per season.

And this one isn't mine (scan from eBay) - a partial original sheet of 1921-30 M.L. die-cuts

Thanks Nick, what I meant was....Does anyone know if they made these for any other players on different teams? Like Ripken, and other players who were big at the time of it's production.

As a collector who really enjoys low population cards - I love this thread. Great posts so far!

I talked about these cards in another thread, but here's a cool card that has yet to be graded by PSA from the 1986 Merchante (Spanish) Basketball set...

The Michael Jordan Collectors Book says that only 500 were made. They were inserted into the "Come Fly with Me" Video and has a t-shirt offer on the back. I have had this one since I bought the VHS tape in 1988 I think. PSA doesn't grade it. It is a sticker that I think would iron on clothing and to get the t-shirt you had to remove the back, so I doubt many are around in good shape.

I remember buying this "HOT" card over 20 years ago. Put it in one of those 3/4" thick heavy plastic slabs (probably cost $5.00 for the slab back then) and it's been sitting there since. I believe I paid in excess of $100.00 for this now piece of crap! LOL

I'm not sure how many of these survived -- especially without the holes being ripped when attached to the gloves:

Didn't know one of these even existed until it appeared in an auction from the liquidation of the Dreier Collection. Given that I know of only three wrappers, a display box of the 1948 Leaf Football set seemed to be the most unlikely of holy grails. So much so, that I never even bothered to look for one . . . until . . .

Hoof - a fair number have survived. I know Steve Garvey was also in their set.

MDNIM - I've seen the kids club promotions from a few other teams from that time period. While they usually had some sort of membership card, it was often paper (usually perforated to be removed from a larger page), and it didn't always feature a player's picture on it - sometimes it was the manager, the mascot, or some other artwork (the Dodgers for a few years used a drawing of a koala bear in a Dodger home uniform swinging a bat).

This is really a credential that was wore by ABC's Nightline crew the night that Ripken passed Gehrig in 1995, but it certainly looks like a card (my copy is the only one I've seen):

I had the Ray Knight model of this glove. No idea if I still have the card.

I actually have two of these that I picked up a LONG time ago..

Any clue what these are worth? I am looking to sell as I just found them again after a long renaisance in a long forgotten box of sportscards...and yes they are in great shape and have been in a top loader the entire time.

The 1980 OPC Super Gretzky still can be had for $10 to $20 raw. A steal! You may wish to get them graded to realize more. Especially if you can get the first PSA 10! There are 20 in PSA 9 but have a feeling you can probably double that number over time. The whole 24 card set raw can usually be had for $50-70.

Here's a tough 1987 Crown Richmond Tom Glavine. Not his first card. Not sure if PSA won't slab as none graded by PSA but some have been graded by Beckett. Glavine also has a 1986 Procards Greenville Braves which is his first card. This 1987 is rarer than the 1986 and a lot rarer than the 2 TCMA 1987 versions (Richmond and Int'l league AS that both have the same foto). All are a lot rarer than his 1988 Donruss! lol.

Kraft Patrick Roy RC from 1986. Sometimes the set is referred to as Kraft Drawings. This was issued in Quebec only I believe. There is a bigger print, probably bigger than a sheet of paper, of the same image/drawing that you could have sent away for without the Kraft logo as well.
