For Those 1970s O-Pee-Chee Baseball Fans

Two tougher OPC packs from the early 1970s. Just got these back from PSA for my OPC set:

    Sweet Northern love!!! image

Great job on the grades as PSA 8's are hard to come by for early 70's wax.

Maybe you have a 70 Munson in a PSA 10. image

    Nice packs.

Thanks, guys! Part of the reason I slabbed these was to keep me from opening them as those thick plastic holders are tough to hack through, LOL..

Those packs are stunning. I've always loved the brighter colors of the 60's and 70's OPC cards versus their bigger brothers from the lower 48...

Moving into the '70s, here's the next couple of Canadian beauties, lol..

    Geez Tim!

Those are so sweet - very smart to put them in those mega plastic tombs - even Houdini would have trouble cracking those hummers!

Altho they're big - I think they display nice if ya have the space.

    Thanks, Mike(s)! image

Yeah, the PSA holders are definitely a deterrent to ripping for me. OTOH, I still have a whole jar full of cut-off GAI flips, as that soft plastic is no match for a long pair of scissors, LOL..

Here's the next duet of OPC wax ; the '74 is a tougher year to find, the '75 is from a past CU group rip..

Continuing into the 70s, here's the next pair of packs. I haven't yet submitted a 76 OPC pack to PSA but I've had this GAI 9 76 OPC pack, which was pulled straight from a full box, for many years. The PSA 9 77 OPC pack with Eck on back was from a past group rip.

    Hi Tim

If I decide to sell it - I'll let you know straight away. In terms of provenance - I bought it from Mark Murphy around 1993 or 4.

And rounding out the 70s OPC run, here's a 78 OPC with Murray RC face out on back that I was lucky enough to pull from a full box and a GAI 9.5 gem mint 79 OPC pack I've had for a long while.

Currently working on: Kurt Warner PSA 9 or 10

  • I think you need to bid on this so you can enjoy your coffee more while you look at your packs.
