The first two seasons, Kobe Bryant came off the bench. It wasn't his fault, but the coaches who let him come off the bench. But, who can blame them? Here's a guy coming straight out of high school into the NBA and being extremely young at age 18, so it's fair to say that they needed him to come off the bench being so young without experience so he could eventually "learn". These two seasons did some damage to Kobe's "career numbers". I believe that if Kobe would have been a starter to begin with, his stats would be a lot better than what his "career numbers" show. Well, being me, I was wondering what his "starting numbers" would look like so I did some digging and comparing. Let's take a look at Kobe's CAREER numbers:
Games - 412
Points - 8,157
Points per game - 19.8
Field Goals Made - 2,917
Field Goals Attempted - 6,371
Field Goal % - .458
3 point Field goals made - 292
3 point Field goals attempted - 926
3 point field goal % - .315
Free Throws made - 2,031
Free Throws attempted - 2,457
Free Throw % - .827
Rebounds - 1,885
Rebounds per game - 4.60
Assists - 1,570
Assists per game - 3.8
Steals - 530
Steals per game - 1.29
Those are his CAREER stats. Now take a look at his stats as a STARTER and compare and see how totally different they are:
Games - 265
Points - 6,398
Points per game - 24.1
Field Goals made - 2,360
Field Goals attempted - 5,036
Field Goal % - .469
3 point field goals made - 166
3 point field goals attempted - 570
3 points field goal % - .291
Free Throws made - 1,512
Free Throws attempted - 1,834
Free Throw % - .824
Rebounds - 1,511
Rebounds per game - 5.70
Assists - 1,371
Assists per game - 5.17
Steals - 407
Steals per game - 1.54
I just found it interested to know what his starting numbers would be. Those are definitely great numbers considering he plays with a guy named Shaq. They'd definitely be a lot higher if there were no Shaq. I'm not really trying make any kind of argument here, I just wanted to show people what he does as a starter.

And what about that receeding hairline who gets the blame for that
lmao!
sure they would be higher.. but would it do the team any good? Can't you look at the Lakers as a team? Instead of just looking at Kobe, or Shaq, they're great t o g e t h e r , not because of 1 player.. or 2
