Do other countries' "junk silver" trade by the roll or bag?

Many countries issued silver coins for circulation back in the day, but I've never heard of "junk silver" bags other than for U.S. and Canadian coins. Do bags of any other countries' common silver coins exist in any quantity, and if so are they traded or melted for bullion value?

And Australian round 50 cent coins, which were only issued in 1966 (and the only silver 50c) are usually traded as bullion with a small premium to spot.
<< <i>Australian pre-decimal coins sell by the kilo, but I think there is 50% or 90% depending on the year so usually comes sorted. Think most of it goes for close to spot?

Up to 1945 the coins are sterling (.925) After that they are .500 fine.
