I might have to change some of the guidelines for my new collection

With the advent of plus grades by PCGS, I find that it is possible to purchase MS-64+ coins

with the inherent beauty and details of a MS-65 at a much more reasonable price. Of course,

there are + coins and then there are plus coins. I believe that I have snagged one that will fit

in very nicely with my collection from one of my Golden Circle Dealers. When I get a chance to get

my paws on the coin and agree to buy it, I will post a picture of it for the Forum to review.

While there have been a number of sarcastic comments about the new PLUS grades, I believe that it

represents an opportunity for average collectors to obtain quality coins at a fraction of gem prices. In

my opinion, PCGS is to be commended for establishing the grade and the new pricing structure for these

amazing examples of top of the grade coins. The hobby of collecting must continue to evolve and define

quality from the average dregs of the market place. The New PLUS pricing, which is undergoing construction

has long been needed to correct the often misleading pricing guides as they pertain to high quality coins for a

particular grade.
