Searched through half dollar's today with a little help.

Meltdown

I work swing shift, so my son & I hang out during the day while his big sister is at school.
He's 3 and a half and absolutely nuts about coins. I don't know where he gets it. His favorite coin is my big ol' Mt. Hood 5oz silver
piece and I let him carry it around the house and play with it. He even begs to sleep with the dang thing most nights... The PCGS slab
is pretty much all scratched to hell, but I don't really care.
He's watched me open many boxes of halves in the past and always wants to join in. We've had this discussion millions of times. He begs... "please can I have some?" I say "nope, because you always lose them." He says he won't this time and I say "you lost the ones I gave you yesterday..." etc, etc...
Today at the bank, the teller tells me she has two boxes and asks if I would like them both. I say sure... My son sees me take two boxes
over the counter and his eyes get HUGE. Then he starts in the whole drive home... "You got two? One for me and one for you! When I get home I'm going to open mine and find silver ones... I say "you don't know how to look for them" He say's "Yes I do..."
Literaly the entire drive home he's yapping and yapping about how I got him a box too... So, what can I do? He's coin crazy just like me so I figured he's old enough now to unwrap them carefuly, listen to instruction and enjoy the process. Sure enough, he sits down and helps me open the entire two boxes. He never got distracted or lost interest. I helped him check the edges and (a few times)helped him pick them off the floor when the whole roll would unwrap in a mini explosion of halves...
He even found the first of 6 total silver pieces...

Yep. I'm pretty certain he will be a collector as a kid. I can't wait to help him build album sets.

That is great! He actually looks like he is enjoying himself there.
My son shows some interest my daughter not so much. We do spend a good amount of time building lego sets though.

He's a good kid, full of energy, laughs, love, curiousity & mischief. I'm pretty blessed.
