Which 50's era card should I choose.

I'm on the fence between a '53 Topps Mantle and '54 Topps Aaron in mid grade psa.
I won't do both.

Help me decide image

Just out of curiosity, what's the theme of the collection for which the card is needed?

I would go for the Aaron. I would rather have a rookie of one of the all time greats than a third year card of another of the all time greats, even if the '53 Mantle is a GREAT looking card.

I have both for sale. Mantle has a crease across the top that does break thru to the back.

Everyday I see 20+ FS, Extremely Common Topps Cards....

Why not get both Mantle's and Aaron's Rookies for less than 1 of those common cards?

And on top of that these 2 cards are 50-500+X scarcer!

    1951 Wheaties Test Issue Mantle
1954 Johnson Cookies or Spic & Span Aaron

    Just a thought....

Although I am a Mantle collector, I'd go with the Aaron because it's his rookie card.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
