Raw card pickups- '72 Clemente & Aaron POPPAGE

Picked these up at a show yesterday. I normally buy cards from the '50s & '60s but I thought these were nice. What you say?

Yes, a current printing press. Those cards are 10.5 grade.

Sensational cards. Congratulations. '72 is my all-time favorite set, one which I never get tired of viewing.

Once I left, I knew I should've bought more... commons that is. All of the other stars he had were sharp but OC. He had a binder full of commons though at $1/card. There were at least 50 and probably closer to a 100 commons as nice or nicer than the Clemente. I don't collect this set per se so I didn't know which ones were low pops. He did have a Wilhelm #777 and Garvey that I debated on but passed.

Those are great!! If I ran across those raw, I'd be afraid they had been trimmed. Do you measure these before buying them? Also, I would never be so brave as to NM value, even those these are obviously better than NM.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

    They measure up fine.

Grades are in...pretty pleased I guess. Was hoping for an 8.5 or possibly a 9 in the group. The Stargell has a slight bend on the upper right that knocked it down. Must be tought to get a 9 on '72s(especially stars).

I personally think those are some beautiful cards and I think you got jipped by some hard ass grader. I think 9,9,9, and the grade was probably appropriate on the Stargell.

Things that make you go image!! I just wonder what made the grader say to to 9s on at least the Aaron, Clemente, and Munson?
