"The Wedding of Angie & Cameron Kiefer" Sample Slab - Auction for the CK Memorial Fund

Leave it to Cameron to celebrate such a momentous event with a sample slab!

First off, I do not intend to get into any debate as to his actions, although I will say his actions have made life ridiculously difficult for those he loved the most, his wife and children.

From what I have seen here, there are also a few / some / many board members who have also been harmed, yet in a different way. My many transactions with him were always problem-free.

Back to the opening statement – a few years ago, Cameron had sent me a sample slab which commemorates his wedding (I will try to get a picture up in a day or two). It is an ICG slab containing a 2007-D Washington dollar and the label states “The Wedding of Angie & Cameron Kiefer, Broomfield, CO, May 10th 2007."

I am auctioning off this sample slab here on the boards. To bid, post to this thread, or if you wish to remain anonymous, send me a PM with the amount you are willing to bid and I will add a post with said bid. A check will be sent to Cameron’s memorial fund after conclusion of the auction. It sounds like Angie could use this much more than I can right now.

The auction ends at midnight ET December 31.

Regards,

Mark

I sincerely hope the people who are owed money or merchandise aren't offended by this, but we have to keep in mind that this is for his young family that was left behind.
I bid $200 being that this is a one-of-a-kind item and it is for a good cause.

Am I top bid @ $200, or is there an "anonymous" one higher than me? Personally, I dont think anonymous bids should be allowed. Being totally transparent on something like this is preferred I would think...but thats just me. I'll be quiet now.

The more i think about it, this probably isnt a one-of-a-kind being that he probably sent this out to all those invited to the wedding. Would you please verify this Wingsrule? Even if it's not a one of a kind, my bid of $200 will remain, but it would be nice to know. Thanks

I do not know how many exist today. I have never seen one on Ebay, nor do I know of any others with one. All I do know about the pop is this quote from Cameron himself back in 2007:

<< <i>"125 of them were made and this was the first of a few extras I had to give out". >>

    Congratulations piecesofme!

Should these be called sample/events slabs?

Stating that they are sample slabs does not clarify that they were issued to commemorate a special event.

Perhaps this might open a whole new field of event slabs?

    Oreville,

I started calling items such as these 'presentation slabs'. I would include items such as the Smithsonian Collection piece and your Purple Heart pieces under this category as well. I guess the NGC Boy Scout and Girl Scout slabs could count, since they were 'presented' to those who completed their merit badge requirements.

NGC issued a similar 'wedding' slab when David Lange married.
