Home Buy, Sell, & Trade - U.S. Coins

Congratulations, Batman23 is the Winner !!!

Congratulations!

You stole an amazing coin. Wait until you see it in hand. This auction is an example of what can happen when you post mediocre pictures and a silly description image . Anyway, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Several people who have seen it in hand offered considerably more that you got it for, but it wasn't available for sale at the time. Anyway, thanks for your winning bid.

MONSTER TONED PCGS FRANKLIN HALF - Obv and Rev Toning

    Colors never seen in nature!

In my opinion this coin is a GREAT Rarity because I doubt VERY MUCH that PCGS is slabbing anymore of these and nature certainly isn't making them (and probably never did)

I bought it for MOON MONEY during the height of the MONSTER TONED COIN CRAZE. Alas, hard times are upon us and I must part with it at a fraction of its imagined value.
The kids are eating dog food, the dog is eating weeds, and I need a kidney, so PLEASE buy this THING.

Opening bid for bidders is only 99¢, but remember, if someone else buys it, you loose and I win

WARNING - WEAR EYE PROTECTION BEFORE CLICKING THIS LINK !!!

I have a few other items(some would call them dreck) on eBay, but they are boring to some, although I like the commems.

I don't know. PCGS didn't think so. The eBay seller that I bought it from 3-4 years ago didn't imply it was. I've seen several coins with similar toning and colors praised highly on the U.S. Coin Forum, some very recently. I don't know the series and don't collect silver coins in general. However, in my opinion, as a non-expert in Franklins or silver, I have my doubts about how "natural" the colors are.

To me, the coin looks natural. It appears to have been removed from an original mint set, which produces those colors. I am not afraid to bid and win the coin!

Indeed, I've seen a number of blue Franklins, including one of my own:

    I think it's natural.

Well the consensus among folks who know a lot more about these toned Franklins than I do seems to be that it's a nice coin.

    Thank you. image
  • I actually like that coin but hate when they put the reverse out. Very annoying. Can you specify when you get a coin slabbed to not do that?

Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image
