Broken Slab Question

Anyone have experience in having a broken slab re-holdered?

How badly can it be broken before PCGS will not re-holder the coin without re-grading?

I'm kinda thinking as long as the slab around the coin is secure it might be OK.

Anyone go through this? Pictures would be great if you have them.

Thanks

It would probably be better for you to post pictures
Edit, by better I mean, quicker responses (people might not have pics uploaded and might not want to take the time)

Man, how did you break a slab? Those things are very strong!
  • Wasn't me image It took the Post Office to find a way to break them after being put in a Safe-T-Mailer, wrapped once with bubble wrap and put in a bubble mailer.

I broke the corner off on one of my slabs all the way to the rim of the coin. I sent it in and PCGS charged me $10.00 to re-slab it.

  • Dont have collection of pic...

    No idea of Slab re-holdering....

I'd assume that as long as the coin isn't damaged and can't be switched at will, they will reholder it.
